It's been another busy week in the 24/7 world of social media. Thankfully, Business Cat made a return to popularity on Reddit. If you ask me, that’s the “purrfect” way to end the week.

Here’s what we’ve been paying attention to this week:

  • YouTube reaches one billion monthly users– There are now one billion reasons why you should promote your video on YouTube. If you're not producing video content yet, you're missing out.
  • Pinterest rolls out a new look - After testing the new design for three months, Pinterest began deploying their new design to all users. The new design makes pins bigger and enhances discovery features. Are you ready to make the switch? Log into your Pinterest account and click "Preview our new look."
  • Study confirms correlation between Twitter and TV ratings - Nielsen released a study demonstrating that Twitter activity around a TV show leads to higher ratings. With over 32 million people tweeting about the TV shows they watched in 2012, this is an effective way to reach audiences on multiple screens for both programmers and advertisers. Watch for this study to be rehashed as Nielsen rolls out its Twitter TV Rating this fall.
  • Twitter enhances self-serve ads tool - Twitter continues to roll out its self-serve ads tool by improving the capabilities for measurement, targeting and optimization.

What do you think of all these changes? What social media news is on your mind? Let me know in the comments.
